Black Women are Anointed to save our democracy!
I want to share a GOOD NEWS STORY with you that should encourage and inspire you! It's about another Black Woman who's doing the work and standing on the frontline for Democracy!
My cousin Sharen Hudson's dad Theodore (Teddy) Hudson was my mom's Deborah Hudson-Stevens' big brother! They left their parents farm in St. George, South Carolina (in Hudson Town) together and moved to Brooklyn, New York. They both married and raised their children.
When I think about what they went through, what their parents endured, and the terror their grandparents faced to make it possible for the Honorable Sharen D. Hudson to become Supreme Court Justice in a time like this, it empowers me!
When I think about what's happening today in our country to try to erase our rich history, dim our light and take away our power I say HELL NO! We're not going back!
"Black women are still putting their bodies on the frontlines in the fight for an America the will continue to kick us no matter what we do!" ~ Jasmine Crockett
But here's the good news Black Woman, you have not only been born "for such a time as this" you have also been appointed and anointed "for such a time as this"!
Count the number of black female judges in the photo below and I'll rest my case (for now).
I grabbed a few parts from the wonderful article written in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle about Sharen's Induction Ceremony below (I have included in a few personal pics as well). Be sure to read the entire article.
