Just as we can use our words to create (watch/listen to the 3 previous Podcast), we can also use them to kick our adversary out of our lives! Mark 11:22-23 “So Jesus answered and said to them “Have faith in God. For assuredly I say to, whosoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in is heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Why did Jesus tell us that the mountain would move just by telling it to move? Well, because just as the mountain was brought into existence by faith-filled words, He knew the mountain could be moved the same way. I believe that Jesus wanted to make a point that if we knew we had within us the power to move a mountain my speaking to it, we could certainly remove the problems we face in our lives the same way.
The enemy is relentless! Everyday he looks for opportunities to 'kill, steal and destroy'. The good news is we can use our words as ammunition to combat his devises.
Instead of being depressed over your current situation while expecting yet another issue to rare it's ugly head, become a "Word-Warrior" by spending your day speaking victory over your life. Hebrews 3:1 tells us something powerful...“Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.“ That’s absolutely amazing, yet quite sobering because it tells us that Jesus is forever an ear shot away from everything we say. In Hebrews 10:23 the word says...“Let us hold fast the confession of our faith without wavering; for He who promised is faithful”. This clearly says that we are to continue to confess faith-filled words, regardless of how things look, trusting that the universe must comply to Jesus. Hebrews 4:14 “Seeing then that we have a high priest, that has passed into the heavens, Jesus the son of God, let us hold fast our profession (confession).” Jesus didn’t have a job once He began His ministry. He lived His life calling those things that be not as though they were to teach us that we should do the same.
CHOOSE EVERY WORD CAREFULLY: It may seem extreme to discern every word before you speak, but know this just as Jesus is forever an ear shot away from everything we say so this Satan! It is not only important that we affirm the promises we’re believing for, the Word gives serious warning about being mindful of all the words we speak. Proverbs 15:4 “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.”
We must stop speaking without thinking. Too often we say things that we really don’t mean often times just for effect. The bible calls this a sin. Matthew 12:36-37 “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Choose carefully your words for they carry within them the power to bring blessings or curses on to you and others. Psalm 34:13 “Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit" The bible teaches us that our words can make the different between long life or early death. I can say that I’ve witnessed this play out in the life and death of someone very close to me. Proverbs 18:20-21 “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 13:3 “He that keeps his mouth keeps his life: but he that opens wide his lips shall have destruction.”
